As of 01.04.2014 the volume of direct foreign investments in the Republic of Crimea is totaled as 1.47 billion USD (cumulative since 1994).
Since the beginning of 2014 in the republic's economy by foreign investors it was invested 10.6 million USD (including exchange differences, the revaluation of capital and its disposal). Per unit of population investments totaled as 752.9 USD.
The main areas of investment (from the beginning of investment):
- Industry - 642, 6 million USD (43,6% of the total),
- Enterprises of temporary accommodation and catering - 409, 2 million USD (27, 8%),
- Organizations performing operations with the real estate - 125, 1 million USD (8.5%),
- The institutions of health care and social assistance - 90, 6 million USD (6.1%).
The investments came from 50 countries. Five major investor countries (from the beginning of investment):
- Cyprus (389.5 million USD);
- Russian Federation (338.9 million USD);
- British Virgin Islands (138.6 million USD);
- Netherlands (119.2 million USD);
- Germany (102.1 million USD).
Among the regions of republic the leading places in the terms of investments hold Yalta, Simferopol, Krasnoperekopsk, Kerch, Alushta, as well as Saki district, which in the 1st quarter of 2014 took 83.0% of the total volume of direct foreign investments in the Republic of Crimea.
