The II International Black Sea Economic Forum was opened in Yalta (Livadia Palace)

   On October 7, the Second International Black Sea Economic Forum held under the patronage of the President of Ukraine was opened at Livadia Palace (Yalta). 

   The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister for Regional Development, Construction and Housing Utilities of Ukraine Anatoly Bliznyuk, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of the ARC Vladimir Konstantinov, Acting Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in Crimea Viktor Plakida, Vice-Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the ARC - Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the ARC Ekaterina Yurchenko, UN Resident Coordinator in Ukraine Olivier Adam, Head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Ukraine Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira and others.
 
 
   First Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Pavel Burlakov said in his opening speech that during two days the participants will discuss many important issues and questions concerning the Black Sea development.
 
   "The rapidly changing world and economy today requires adequate steps and making adequate decisions. I think that the Black Sea region must find its place in the space, and this place certainly has to be serious", - emphasized the First Vice-Premier.
 
 
 
   Pavel Burlakov expressed his confidence that the forum will promote investment and economic development of the Black Sea countries and regions and strengthening of international relations.
 
   According to the vice-premier, the Black Sea Economic Forum has become the international discussion place between representatives of business, government and experts, where future trends and development vectors of the Black Sea countries and regions would be identified.
 
 
 
   On the first day of the forum the panel sessions will be held: "Black Sea Macro-region: The global macro-economic outlook", "Interregional cooperation: prospects and potential for enhancing of the interregional cooperation in Ukraine", "Defining priorities of development and stimulating growth poles of national economies," "Doing business on the ground: what is the view of the investment climate of the Black Sea region economies?".
 
 
   The next day the session on the theme is planned: "Development of the XXI agriculture. Practice and development of organic agriculture of the region", "The role of international organizations in the development of the Black Sea basin economies", "Tourism sector’s potential, infrastructure and transport corridors, drivers for the dynamic development of the tourism market and expansion of the resort season in the Black Sea region countries", "Hotel industry and prospects for tourism development in Crimea", "Black Sea countries in search of common points of growth for the region: Partners or Competitors?"
 
   In addition, the signing of several agreements between the Council of Ministers of the ARC with the regions of Ukraine, investors, international technical assistance programs and projects is planned.
 
 
   Within the forum there is operating the exposition of the investment potential of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. It presents the main activities of the Crimean government on creating an attractive investment climate and enabling environment for business. The interactive investment map of the republic and large investment projects were represented.
 
   The II International Black Sea Economic Forum will finish its work on October 8.
 
   The First Black Sea Economic Forum was held on 26-27 November 2010 in Yalta. It gathered over 250 representatives of government, business and expert circles and the media of the Black Sea countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Georgia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Moldova, Armenia and Azerbaijan.
