Crimea and China have a number of perspective areas for cooperation in agriculture. This was reported by Deputy of Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea - Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Yurchenko Ekaterina, during a meeting with Deputy Minister of Agriculture of China, Chen Xiaohua, which was held according to the working visit to Beijing (China). Vice-president of the state company «China National Agricultural Development Group Co., Ltd» Lead Lyandzhun also took part in this meeting. Both sides discussed prospects for attracting investment in the agricultural sector of the Autonomy.
During the meeting, Vice-Premier of the Republic noted that Crimea is determined by the President of Ukraine, Viktor Yanukovych, as one of the priority regions of the country. The Council of Ministers work to make the republic economically developed region, a prestigious world-class resort.
Ekaterina Yurchenko informed the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of China about work of the Crimean government in reformation of the economy. In particular, the phases of the development Strategy of the Crimea by 2020 were marked. It was reported that the project of agro complex of 21st century in the Autonomy provides for the development of traditional sectors of agriculture on the peninsula: viticulture and wine making, oil-bearing crops (Crimea occupies 80% of the total market of the CIS in the production of it), the cultivation of corn and soybeans.

"Today Crimea is ready for the arrival of Chinese investors in the sphere of agriculture. This is construction of grain elevators, wholesale markets and large livestock farms, rehabilitation and development of irrigation infrastructure, repair and restoration of drainage networks," - said Ekaterina Yurchenko. In addition, Vice-Premier noted that the Crimean side does not exclude the participation of Chinese investors in the development of sanatorium-resort complex.
By-turn, Chen Xiaohua marked that China is interested in developing relations with Crimea in the agricultural sector. At the same time, Mr. Lead Lyandzhun expressed confidence that China and Crimea will be able to implement joint projects in agricultural sector.
