During the working visit of the Crimean delegation to China there was held the meeting of Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea - Minister of Economic Development and Trade, Ekaterina Yurchenko with the vice-governor of the People's Government of Hainan Province of the People's Republic of China, Lin Fanlyue.
Opening the meeting, the vice-governor expressed his gratitude for the warm reception of the Chinese delegation during their visit to Crimea in August this year. "I hope that your visit to us will be an important step in development of friendly relations between the regions", - he said.
Mr. Lin Fanlyue said: "The province of Hainan and Crimea have much in common. And we are interested in establishing close contacts. I am convinced that there will be established good cooperation between our two regions in the resort complex and health care, as well as in culture, technology and trade".
The vice-governor said that Hainan province has a large market for selling wines. "We will try to establish cooperation in the field of winemaking, we are interested in your wine production".
He invited Ekaterina Yurchenko and members of the delegation to take part in the Boao Asia Forum in April 2012. "The current 2011 year is the anniversary one for the Asian Forum in Boao. For ten years this site has been bringing together representatives of many countries and the Asian region for discussing the pressing economic, political, and integration problems".
Ekaterina Yurchenko invited Mr. Lin Fanlyue to take part in the International Black Sea Economic Forum, which will separately present the potential for cooperation between China and Crimea.
Vice Prime Minister informed the participants about economic reforms in Ukraine and Crimea, as well as about the implementation of the Strategy for the autonomy’s development, adopted by the Crimean government. "Crimea and Hainan Province are very similar, and we have great prospects for enhanced cooperation, - she said. - We are ready to give specific suggestions and implement specific projects in all areas that you have mentioned".
During the meeting, there was signed a protocol №2 for 2012-2013 to the Agreement between Crimea and the Government of Hainan Province on trade, economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation.
This document suggests the development of relations in tourism and health, youth policy, education, economic and investment policies. It is also planned to establish cooperation of the enterprise "Agency for Regional Development" of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea with business structures in Hainan Province in attracting and promoting investment.
"We are ready to make our agreement a practical document. I hope that this will enable us to achieve high rates of growth in agricultural production and transport infrastructure", - said Ekaterina Yurchenko, adding that the natural and recreational resources, the rich historical and cultural heritage of Crimea may be of considerable interest for the PRC’s citizens.
An agreement was reached on the exchange of information and image materials, including the provision of accommodation in media materials about the tourism, recreational, economic and cultural potential of the parties.
The meeting was attended by Ukrainian Ambassador to China Yuriy Kostenko, Minister of Health care of Crimea Igor Shpak, First Deputy Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the autonomy Alexander Liev, deputies of the Crimean parliament Rustam Temirgaliev and Janina Pavlenko, Director of the Agency for Regional Development of Crimea Alexey Starodubov.
